2 Reasons Why Singleness is Good

In continuing with our sermon series through 1 Corinthians, Pastor Jay Jesuroga preached on “2 Reasons Why Singleness is Good” from 1 Corinthians 7:25-31.

The outline is as follows:

  • Singleness is good because of…
    • This present distress
    • The temporary aspects of this life

Since this is a teaching and a section of Scripture that is not talked about very often and could even appear shocking, some could misconstrue this to be an attack on a certain movement, so Jay started off with a disclaimer (3 minutes):

One of the reasons that Paul encourages one to stay single is because of a present distress. We, Americans, are far removed from the persecution that 1st century Christians experience. Jay explains in the 4 minute clip below:
