Paul’s Thanksgiving Prayer

In continuing with our sermon series through Philippians, Pastor Emilio Ramos preached “Paul’s Thanksgiving Prayer” from Philippians 1:3-8.

Pastor Emilio started off by giving us warnings about how prayer can be left out of our fast-paced, busy lives and the priority that Paul gave to prayer (3 minutes):

The outline is as follows:

- Paul’s Prayer for the Philippians is…(Philippians 1:3-8):

  1. Thankful & Joyful (Phil. 1:3-5)
  2. Confident (Phil. 1:6)
  3. Affectionate (Phil. 1:7-8)

The fellowship that Paul and the church in Philippi had was primarily in the gospel. This is a great reminder to us on why we exist… FOR THE GOSPEL! (3 minutes):

Paul prayed with confidence, not because of what they had done, but because what God has done and what God was producing… ongoing sanctification in their lives. In the 5 minute clip below Pastor Emilio explain the will of man and the sovereignty of God:

Paul thanked God for all in the church because they participated with Paul in the gospel. Can this be said of us? What does it mean to participate in the gospel? (3 minutes):

After service and before our Thanksgiving feast, the children who are apart of Sunday School sang Doxology for us. Here is one video of it, and another.
